June.02.2015

Orrick was awarded “Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year” by Chambers & Partners at its annual Chambers USA Women in Law Awards, held on June 2, 2015 in New York. The firm was honored for its "Orrick Cares" initiative.

The firm launched Orrick Cares in 2014 in celebration of the firm’s 150th anniversary. The goal was to enhance the firm’s already significant community responsibility activity by engaging lawyers, staff, clients and friends in activities that give back to communities worldwide.

The result was 48 events in 13 different markets. Examples included partnering with the California Coastal Commission for a beach clean-up (San Francisco), supporting the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life (Wheeling) and participating in a clothing drive for job seekers (Paris), and running two 200-mile relay races, among many others.

“We are grateful to our 48 community partners, to our team and to the many clients and friends who helped us celebrate our long history and make an impact globally,” said Orrick Chairman Mitch Zuklie. “We look forward to continuing our Orrick Cares program for years to come.”
