Congratulations to partners Lynne Hermle and Melinda Haag for being named to the Daily Journal’s 2018 Top Women Lawyers list, which recognizes women litigators and transactional lawyers throughout California for their overall accomplishments in the law.
In a profile, the publication highlighted Lynne’s string of courtroom successes representing clients in employment litigation in recent years, in addition to her observations about advising companies in the #metoo era. “It is hard for me to think of a moment when the issues we work on with our clients have been more at the forefront of very deep conversation, including across industries,” Lynne said in an interview. “I’m fortunate to have clients who are really focused on doing the right thing whether it’s pay equity or sex harassment investigation, and there’s a lot of emphasis on making sure policies are updated, training is done carefully, and audits are done to ensure equitable compensation.”
The Daily Journal profile of Melinda features the extensive federal prosecutorial experience she brought to Orrick, including her tenure as U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California, as well as the high-profile matters she now handles as a partner in our global litigation team. The publication noted Melinda’s current representation of Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf in a controversy over immigration raids in her city, and her role representing Wynn Resorts general counsel Kimmarie Sinatra in a complex legal battle that recently settled.
Both Melinda and Lynne have previously been named to the Daily Journal’s Top Women and Top Lawyers in California lists.
