Law360 today profiled our Supreme Court & Appellate Practice as one of the 2018 Appellate Practice Groups of the Year, highlighting a perfect record in the Supreme Court last term, a major reversal for Oracle in its copyright infringement fight against Google and the unique culture of collaboration that led to these results.
Law360 notes that Orrick went undefeated in the Supreme Court in five cases argued by four different partners, the most of any law firm last term. Those four partners were Josh Rosenkranz, Kelsi Brown Corkran, who was only one of four women from private practice to argue before the high court in its last session, Bob Loeb and Eric Shumsky.
“I’m very proud of the reputation I think we’ve earned as an appellate group that really focuses on supporting our junior attorneys, including women, LGBTQ and racially diverse attorneys,” Kelsi noted. “We have been able to pull together the most phenomenally talented, highly diverse team. … I think that’s what underlies a lot of our success this past year in the courtroom.”
Eric added, “It’s important to us not to have a single star but to have a constellation model. We get our depth and strength by spreading opportunities around.”
In addition to selecting our appellate practice, Law360 named our employment, project finance and tech practices as a Practice Group of the Year for 2018.
