Orrick has advised the owners of Berlin-based independent hip hop record label Ragucci & Boldt and live booking agency Ibrahim & Boldt on an investment by and partnership with Sony Music Entertainment Germany.
Founded by music manager Ronny Boldt and rapper Raphael Ragucci (aka RAF Camora), the record label Ragucci & Boldt has worked with a number of well-known hip hop producers and artists. Ibrahim & Boldt was founded by Ronny Boldt and Massimo Ibrahim and operates in live promotion, booking and ticketing.
Berlin-based Sony Music Entertainment Germany is part of New York-based Sony Music which belongs to Japanese Sony Group. Sony Music is one of the three major record labels world-wide and occupies the intersection of music, entertainment and technology.
Ronny Boldt, Raphael Ragucci and Massimo Ibrahim were advised on copyright and media law aspects by Christopher Mueller of Munich law firm Schulze Küster Müller Mueller Jangl and by an Orrick team led by Munich technology transactions partner Thomas Schmid.
