Teresa is honored for her record of helping Microsoft innovate to power data centers sustainably. This work supports the company’s market-leading goal of having 100% of its electricity consumption, 100% of the time, matched by zero-carbon energy purchases by 2030. She is one of six lawyers across the country honored as an MVP in this category.
Law360 highlighted Teresa’s work advising Microsoft on a first-of its-kind agreement with Brookfield, the largest single corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) ever signed and advising Microsoft on a 20-year nuclear energy PPA with Constellation Energy that will pave the way for the restart of Three Mile Island Unit 1.
In her interview, Teresa talks about the influence of her childhood experience living at a coal plant in Wyoming and witnessing the environmental costs.
"Here was an opportunity for me to merge my history and my passions. Energy is in my blood," Teresa said.
"We're constantly doing projects that are moving the needle on climate change. I feel like I'm having a meaningful impact. Every day, I'm doing transactions that are moving us closer to decarbonization," she added.
