Michael Morehead focuses on complex litigation and appeals for clients in the energy, construction, tech, and finance sectors.

Michael brings fresh, bottom-line clarity and direction when exposure and complexity are at their highest. He provides start-to-finish trial and appeals management services and and values clear minded, goal-oriented thinking. Michael represents clients in a variety of contexts, including breaches of contract, fiduciary duty disputes, multi-district litigation (MDL), community torts, foreclosures, and non-compete actions in the commercial and intellectual property spaces.  Michael also assists clients that are being investigated and subpoenaed.

Michael understands how courts think. He has drafted judicial opinions resolving appellate matters at the highest level of the Texas judicial system and has also managed a federal civil docket for two years, administering and resolving numerous federal cases throughout their life cycles. Armed with knowledge of how courts and judges work and what they expect, Michael provides clients with strong litigation plans and positive results. Michael regularly represents clients in their most complex and sophisticated matters involving eight, nine and ten figure damages.

    • Represented tech company in $5 million personal injury suit. Obtained complete dismissal.
    • Represented top-3 Canadian energy company in $150 million breach of contract and fiduciary duty suit. Favorable settlement upon successful motion practice.
    • Represented national construction company in $100 million Hurricane Harvey related tort case brought by over 500 plaintiffs. Successfully settled within insurance policy limits.
    • Represented world-wide environmental testing firm in Hurricane Harvey litigation involving 700 plaintiffs. Achieved voluntary non-suit from over 95% of all plaintiffs, and favorable resolution of the remainder.
    • Representing power generator companies in Texas Winter Storm Uri MDL litigation.
    • Represented world's largest property insurer against $60 million breach of contract claim arising from hotel damage.
