Deska is a project development and finance lawyer focusing on energy and infrastructure projects in the Asia-Pacific region. She has been involved in a wide range of projects involving both international and Indonesian clients.

Leveraging more than 10 years of experience advising sponsors, investors, project companies, developers and financiers (including ECAs and commercial banks), Deska excels in getting complex projects across the renewable energy, conventional energy and infrastructure sectors over the line. She is experienced in advising on international cross border financings in Asia and the Middle East.

As a native Indonesian who spent over a decade of practicing law in Indonesia, Deska is adept at navigating Indonesia's intricate regulatory framework and possesses expertise in closing complicated projects for various stakeholders.

Prior to joining Orrick, Deska practiced law at a magic circle law firm in Jakarta and in Tokyo. Deska has also interned at the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources and worked as an associate at a boutique oil and gas law firm in Indonesia.

    • The financiers, including Export Import Bank of Korea, Korea Trade Insurance Corporation, SACE and Export-Import Bank of the United States on the financing of the expansion and upgrade of PT Pertamina (Persero)’s Balikpapan refinery in East Kalimantan, Indonesia
    • PT Pertamina International Shipping on its term loan to two subsidiaries in connection with the prior acquisition of two VLCCs.
    • PT Donggi Senoro LNG, the project company, which shareholders consist of, PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, PT Medco LNG Indonesia and Sulawesi LNG Development Ltd. (a joint venture of Mitsubishi Corporation and Korea Gas Corporation), on the financing for the Donggi Senoro LNG Liquefaction plant located in Sulawesi.
    • The financiers, including Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Nippon Export and Investment Insurance, Asian Development Bank and covered commercial lenders on the project financing of the 1760MW Jawa 1 LNG to power project in Karawang, Indonesia.
    • Sumitomo Corporation, The Kansai Electric Power Co. and PT United Tractors Tbk on the project financing of the 2000MW ultra-super critical coal fired power station by Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Nippon Export and Investment Insurance and covered commercial lenders.
    • The lenders (including JBIC) on the financing of the Rajamandala Hydropower Plant located in Cianjur, West Java, Indonesia.
    • OPIC on the financing of Indonesia’s first commercial windfarm located in Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap) regency, South Sulawesi province, Indonesia.
    • A bidder for the export of solar power project from Batam, Indonesia to Singapore.
    • The lenders (including JBIC) on the financing of the Tangguh Train 3 project located in Teluk Bintuni, Papua Barat.
    • The lenders and the borrower on various corporate financings for PT Pertamina (Persero).
    • The lenders for a potential acquisition finance to be carried out by PT Pertamina (Persero) (the deal did not go through).
    • KEXIM for a potential bridge loan with PT Pertamina (Persero) (the deal did not go through).
    • PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy for its bridge loan.
    • PT Pertamina International Shipping on its various corporate loans.
    • PT Pertamina Internasional Eksplorasi dan Produksi on the financing of its French subsidiary, Maurel & Prom.
    • PT Pertamina Power Indonesia on the drafting of a power generation equipment leasing agreement.
    • Protelindo on its various corporate loans.
