“Josh is one of the most accomplished ITC litigators in the country and will be instrumental in helping our clients protect their innovations in a complex forum that is becoming increasingly crucial in resolving global IP disputes,” said Clem Roberts, co-head of Orrick’s IP Business Unit. “We are excited to add Josh’s first chair talent and deep ITC expertise to our team.”
Added Josh: “Orrick has grown a sterling reputation as a tech focused firm with a true trial culture, winning high-stakes IP campaigns at the ITC, the trial courts and the appellate level. I’m inspired by what we will be able to offer clients together.”
Josh, who holds mechanical engineering and political science degrees from Stanford University, was a founding editor of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association’s 337 Reporter Round-Up and a fellow in the Hispanic National Bar Association’s IP Law Institute. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and has an active pro bono practice on behalf of disabled veterans. Earlier this year he prevailed before the D.C. District Court on behalf of decorated U.S. Army veteran Benjamin Hayhurst, whose heroism was depicted in the National Geographic miniseries and best-selling book “The Long Road Home,” to obtain long-owed disability benefits after an 18-year fight.
Josh is the eighth partner the firm has added to its IP litigation practice since the beginning of last year, focused on tech and life sciences. American Lawyer last year named Orrick a finalist for IP Litigation Department of the Year.
