Orrick Announces New Leadership

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP is pleased to announce that Mitch Zuklie has become Chairman of the firm effective March 31, 2013. Mr. Zuklie succeeds Ralph H. Baxter.

Mr. Zuklie is recognized as one of the country's leading advisors to entrepreneurs, technology companies and the venture capital community in Silicon Valley and worldwide. He has served in a wide range of leadership roles at Orrick, including as a member of the Management Committee and Board.

Orrick’s seven-member Management Committee for 2013 includes, in addition to Mr. Zuklie:

Jim Stengel will continue to serve as lead outside director of the Board.

Mr. Zuklie will continue his corporate practice, in addition to assuming the role of Chairman. His cleantech and IT-focused practice includes advising innovators such as Fisker Automotive and Nest; leading venture capital firms such as Benchmark Capital, Kleiner Perkins and Sequoia Capital; and investment banks and the venture investing arms of some of the largest global public companies. He earned his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the California Law Review, and graduated, summa cum laude, from Bowdoin College.

In his most recent role as leader of the global Corporate Business Unit, Mr. Zuklie oversaw Orrick's Capital Markets, Compensation & Benefits, Emerging Companies, M&A/Private Equity and Tax groups. Previously, he served as a leader of the firm's Silicon Valley office.

Mr. Zuklie’s assumption of the role of Chairman marks the successful conclusion of a two- year process to identify and transition a successor to Mr. Baxter, who will remain a partner in the firm.
