Orrick Partners Honored with ILO's 2013 Client Choice Awards

March.07.2013

Orrick white collar and corporate investigations partner Walt Brown and intellectual property partner Steve Routh were selected by the International Law Office (“ILO”) in its 2013 Client Choice Awards. Mr. Brown was the exclusive award recipient in the category of white collar crime in the state of California, while Mr. Routh was the exclusive award recipient in the category of intellectual property: patents in Washington, D.C. The awards recognize law firms and partners around the world that stand out for providing superb client service.

Determined by a survey of senior corporate counsel, the ILO awards evaluate individual lawyers and law firms on the quality of legal advice, commercial awareness, effective communication, billing transparency, responsiveness, use of technology and sharing of expertise. This year’s winners were selected from a pool of more than 2,000 individual client assessments.

Mr. Brown is the Managing Director of Orrick’s five Business Units, as well as a seasoned trial lawyer whose practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, securities litigation and complex business litigation.  He represents companies and individuals in connection with criminal and regulatory investigations, as well as parallel civil and administrative proceedings.

Mr. Routh is co-chair of Orrick’s Intellectual Property Group, and handles complex litigation in a wide range of areas, including patent infringement, commodities trading and products liability. Mr. Routh has represented plaintiffs, as well as defendants as first chair counsel in patent infringement trials in both federal court and International Trade Commission proceedings.
