Orrick’s Tech Companies lawyers John Bautista and Josh Pollick have advised Coatue Management on its two latest investments in Auris Surgical Robotics and Reddit.
Auris, a California-based surgical robotics company, has raised $280 million in a Series D financing led by Coatue. Additional investors in the round included Viking Global Investors, Section 32 and Partner Fund Management.
Online discussion forum Reddit raised $200 million, its largest funding round to date, valuing the company at $1.8 billion. Other investors included Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, Y Combinator President Sam Altman, SV Angel’s Ron Conway, Vy Capital and Fidelity.
Orrick has advised Coatue on numerous investments over the years, including its investments in Box, Docker, Hotel Tonight and Liberty Broadband, among many others.
