Orrick has achieved Mansfield Certification Plus for the fourth time, according to The Diversity Lab’s announcement of Mansfield Rule 4.0. Certification Plus indicates the firm has at least 30 percent diverse lawyer representation in a notable number of our current leadership roles and committees.
“The Mansfield Rule has been an enormously valuable bias interrupter,” said Orrick Chairman Mitch Zuklie. “Through the heightened focus of Mansfield and other efforts, we have achieved 55% diversity on our Board and Management Committee, a new partner class this year that is 75% diverse, and 50% diversity among our lateral partner hires over the past five years.” He continued: “We continue to be grateful not only to Caren Ulrich Stacy and Diversity Lab but also to the 80 corporate legal departments who support this program – and whose voices are helping Orrick and our profession drive change.”
Mansfield Rule Certification indicates that firms have affirmatively considered at least 30 percent women, lawyers of color and LGBTQ+ lawyers for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, senior lateral positions and formal pitches.
