IoT Tech: Sequans Communications Completes Sale to Qualcomm

Sequans Communications S.A. (NYSE: SQNS), a supplier of 4G and 5G semiconductor solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT), has completed the sale of its 4G IoT technology to Qualcomm, the U.S. mobile chip giant.

THE COMPANIES

Sequans Communications is a fabless designer, developer and supplier of cellular semiconductor solutions for broadband and critical Internet of Things (IoT) markets. Established in 2003, Sequans is headquartered in France and has a global presence with offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Israel, Hong Kong, Singapore, Finland, Taiwan, and China.

THE IMPACT

Sequans strengthens its balance sheet and retains full rights to continue to use the technology commercially, via a perpetual license agreement, supporting the company’s ability to expand its 4G business and develop its 5G portfolio.

Julia Apostle Partner

Julia counsels on compliance issues in relation to European and French tech and data regulations, including the GDPR, the Digital Services Act, the regulation of AI, the Data Act and other new and emerging legislation impacting online platforms, technology developers, and eCommerce businesses. She advises companies of all sizes on a wide range of compliance matters, ranging the drafting of internal policies, to assisting with regulatory investigations, and product counseling.
