Onur advises German and international clients on corporate law with a focus on domestic and cross-border venture capital and M&A transactions and complex corporate law matters.

He regularly advises founder teams on the establishment of a two-tier U.S./German holding structures, be it in connection with their admission to a U.S. accelerator or be it for better access to early-stage financing opportunities in the richer U.S. funding ecosystem.

During his legal training, Onur had been with the M&A practice of a Big Four accounting firm and the legal department of a major German technology company in Germany and Canada. In 2022, Onur worked from our San Francisco and Menlo Park offices for three months to take a deep-dive into the Silicon Valley's start-up ecosystem.

    • More than 40 flip transactions, including numerous German startups who were accepted by Y Combinator, Berkeley SkyDeck and other accelerators;
    • Sanvivo on its Series Seed financing round led by Heal Capital;
    • Floy on raising €3.4M from 10x Founders, xdeck, SB21 and several angel investors;
    • Voltfang on closing its €5M Series Seed;
    • Levity AI on closing its $8.3M Series Seed led by Balderton Capital and Chalfen Ventures;
    • Gigs on closing their $20M Series A financing round led by Google's Gradient Ventures;
    • Luxempart and the other shareholders on their sale of eduPRO Group to Invision;
    • PowerUs on closing their $10M Series A led by General Catalyst;
    • Coatue as lead investor in a $30M financing round of Choco Communications;
    • Coatue as lead investor in the $290M financing in German startup Gorillas;
    • GRID eSports in its Series A financing;
    • Headline Ventures on participating in the €122M Series D financing of Staffbase;
    • Energy Impact Partners on their investment in the Series B financing round of Zolar.
    • Camunda on its $82M financing round;
    • Haniel on its €30M Series B financing round of German robotics start-up Wandelbots;
    • Healthcare service provider Kenbi on its incorporation and Series Seed financing round;
    • Lending platform auxmoney on its €150M growth financing round led by Centerbridge Partners;
    • SaaS scaleup Contentful on its $80M Series E with lead investor Sapphire and the preceding Series D and Series C financing rounds;
    • Goodwater Capital on its participation as co-lead in a $60M financing round of German e-scooter company TIER Mobility.
