Lisa, Counsel in the San Francisco office, is a member of the Energy and Infrastructure Group. Lisa advises clients on commercial real estate, finance and M&A matters.

Lisa represents clients in a variety of energy transactions, including project development, mergers, acquisitions and financings. She has a particular focus on real property matters, including negotiating site control documents, title insurance policies and surveys, and coordinating a wide variety of title curative work.

Lisa's background includes commercial real estate work for institutional clients and high net worth individuals, with extensive experience representing clients on acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and joint ventures.

  • Solar

    • Dunns Bridge Solar I & II, Indiana: 700 megawatt project developed by Orion Renewable Energy Group, built by NextEra Energy Resources and ultimately owned by Northern Indiana Public Service Co.
    • Troy Solar, Indiana: 150k-panel, 50 megawatt project developed by Orion Renewable Energy Group, built by First Solar and ultimately owned by Vectren.
      Wind
    • Bethel Wind Farm, Texas: 120-turbine, 276 megawatt project developed by Orion Renewable Energy Group and sold to Southern Power in 2017. Most of the power generated is purchased by Google Energy.
    • Pilot Hill Wind Project, Illinois: 103-turbine, 175 megawatt project developed by Orion Renewable Energy Group and sold to EDF Renewable Energy in 2014. The project is subject to a power purchase agreement with Microsoft Corporation.
    • Golden Hills Wind Farm, Oregon: 51-turbine, 200 megawatt project developed by Orion Renewable Energy Group and sold to Avangrid Renewables in 2017. The project is subject to a power purchase agreement with Puget Sound Energy.
    • Clearwater Wind Project, Montana: 131-turbine, 750 megawatt project developed by Orion Renewable Energy Group and sold to NextEra Energy Resources.

    Financing

    • REIT: 30+ transactions representing a large REIT in acquiring, financing and joint venture matters.
    • Construction Loan: Financing of 241-unit multifamily development in Oakland, California involving $36.8M preferred equity and $80M construction loan.
    • Refinance: Refinance of an Embassy Suites in Arizona involving $35.5M mortgage and $5M mezzanine loans.
    • CMBS: Multiple financing transactions between high net worth client and Citi involving multiple layers of joint ventures.
    • Forbearance: Represented hospitality client in negotiating forbearance agreements for multiple hotels due to COVID-19 impacts.

    Acquisitions & Dispositions

    • Hotel Portfolio: Acquisition of four Sonesta hotels totaling $37.2M involving three different joint ventures and preferred equity and mortgage financing.
    • Ground Lease: Acquisition of a $132.3M leasehold interest in a single-tenant office building in Washington, D.C. involving multiple layers of joint ventures and an option to convert to condominiums.
    • Hotel Sale: Disposition of an independent $11.5M hotel in Santa Barbara, California involving a $7M seller carryback loan.
    • Hotel Portfolio Sale: Complicated disposition of a $35M portfolio of hotels located on Mackinac Island, Michigan involving water rights, commercial condominium and restrictive covenants.
