Orrick has advised Ottawa-based Shopify (NYSE: SHOP), the leading cloud-based, multi-channel commerce platform designed for small and medium-sized businesses, in its acquisition of Tictail, a Stockholm-based e-commerce online marketplace where independent sellers and emerging brands can open up shop.
Through the acquisition, Shopify acquired Tictail in an all-cash merger for $17 million.
This is our first deal for Shopify. Our team was led by David Schwartz and included David Gold, Jamie Kamen, John Narducci, James Larkin, Mitchel Pahl, Elizabeth Harris, Jared Bobrow, Daniel Yost, Bill Haft, Ramon Galvan, Marshall Brozost and Leni Kirschenbaum.
