Global payroll and compliance platform Deel has acquired Hofy, an international platform helping teams work remotely.
A cross-border Orrick team represented Deel in the transaction, the third acquisition on which Orrick has advised Deel this year.
Deel is a leading global payroll and compliance platform that simplifies the hiring, onboarding, and management of remote teams. The company's innovative solutions empower businesses to hire anyone, anywhere, without the complexity of international employment laws and payroll.
Hofy is the leading device supply and management company in the world. Unlike its competitors, Hofy has true global coverage and infrastructure, supporting 127+ countries in fewer than 10 working days with a 99% on-time delivery rate and 24/7 industry-leading customer service.
Deel said it “is acquiring Hofy to provide our global customers best-in-class IT services and device lifecycle management, alongside our suite of EOR, global payroll, contractor management, immigration and people management tools. It’s another step in our goal to become the most comprehensive HR & payroll platform worldwide.”
By integrating Hofy's services, Deel will enhance its ability to provide compliant, end-to-end remote hiring solutions. This move is poised to consolidate Deel's position as a comprehensive global HR and IT service provider, enabling the company to offer a seamless remote employee setup experience.
“We started Deel with a core expertise in global hiring and payroll, but we’ve been listening to customers along the way and adding new products and services to help ease pain points associated with building, scaling and managing global teams,” Deel said.
“We’re thrilled to add this new service to our ever-expanding HR and payroll platform, and we can’t wait for you to try it out.”
Orrick’s Justin Yi, Katie Cotton, Kyle Zhu, Shaun Malone, Sojin Kim, Susana Min, Gilbert Harrold, Josh Pollick and Andy Bloom led the team advising Deel.
The team also included Alexander Tocili, Elizabeth Monro-Davies, Lucy Mann, Andrew Barlow, Michael Wiesner, David Walder, Peter Elias, Jonathan Rosen, Andrew Holland, Sarah Schaedler, Natasha Ahmed, Daniel Healow, Vincent Lim, Shannon Yavorsky, Alex Sobolev, Matthew Coleman, Anna O’Kelly, Danielle Mangogna, Emma Zarb, Heather Hanlon, Jeanine McGuinness, Evgeniya Shakina, Simon Folley, Craig Johnston, and Deborah Ann Abernathy.
