An Orrick team in Paris is advising the Republic of Serbia on the 25-year concession for the expansion, operation and maintenance of Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla airport. The Belgrade airport is the largest airport in the Balkans, with 5.3 million passengers in 2017, and will become a regional hub.
Serbia awarded the concession in January 2018 to Vinci Airports, a subsidiary of French infrastructure group Vinci, following a public tender that lasted almost a year. The value of the concession amounts to €1.5 billion, including the planned investments. The concession contract was signed on March 22, 2018, in the presence of Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic. The financial close is expected to occur by the end of September 2018.
The Orrick team advising the Republic of Serbia includes Yves Lepage, Foucaud Jaulin and Marie-Elise Douge.
