Orrick's Global Japan Practice is hosting a series of "Orrick Library" Webinars to explore legal issues in various fields in Japan as well as the United States, Asia and Europe. The webinar will be held on Tuesday, October 6 from 4:00 pm – 5:15 pm.

During our virtual session, we would like to start with a two-part webinar series presented by Sebastian Meul, Counsel in Orrick’s Munich office, focusing on dispute resolution in Germany, including M&A related dispute resolution. 

The first part of the series will provide an introduction to dispute resolution in Germany, covering the following topics:

  • Pro’s and con’s for state court proceedings & arbitration proceedings
  • Course of proceedings before German state courts
  • German Arbitration Association (DIS)
  • Possibility of litigation funding

The session will also touch upon the needs and expectations of Japanese companies on effective dispute resolution as well as the impact COVID-19 on disputes.
