Cyber risks are a key topic in many boardrooms, and the issue of legal liability for directors is being increasingly driven onto the agenda by the rising number of high-profile data breaches and ransomware attacks. The panel examined the risk of derivative claims brought by shareholders on behalf of a company against the company’s directors as a result of a breach of the directors’ duties.
Jinal Shah, James Lloyd and Keily Blair were joined by Pavan Arora (Aramark) and Mike Trevett (Mandiant) as they shared best practice guidelines on how board members and investors alike can identify, quantify and mitigate the risks—and gave guidance on the questions they should be asking their security and technology teams.
