Orrick Advises Antin Infrastructure Partners on €150 Million Equity Investment in Power Dot

Version Française : Orrick conseille Antin Infrastructure Partners pour son entrée au capital de Power Dot et le déploiement d’un investissement de 150 millions d’euros

Orrick is advising Antin Infrastructure Partners on its equity investment in Power Dot, a leading European owner-operator of destination and en-route electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

The investment, which is part of Antin's NextGen strategy, will grant to the fund a co-controlling position in the company currently owned by Grupo Arie and the founders of Power Dot.

Launched in 2018 and already present in several European countries, Power Dot currently operates approximately 5,000 charging points in store and hotel parking spaces. Since inception, Power Dot’s EV chargers have powered more than 26 million of fully electric driven kilometres, contributing by its activity to EU’s overall aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2050.

Malik Idri Partner

Malik practice focuses on French and European competition law, on both transactional and litigation cases: merger control, antitrust litigation before the French Competition Authority and the European Commission, as well as litigation cases before courts.

He is experienced in abuse of dominant position, with a particular emphasis on the telecommunication sector. He notably dedicated his doctoral thesis to the opening up of competition of the French phone network and he worked at the French sector regulator (ARCEP). Recently he advised SFR on a number of litigation matters including the Orange case which resulted in an unprecedented decision with the highest fine ever imposed by the French competition authority.

Over the last years, he has also developed a recognized experience in follow-on damage actions representing claimants before the European Commission and French courts.

Columnist for the Concurrences review he regularly contributes to the « Chronique du conten-tieux de la réparation » section and teaches Competition and Distribution Law at the University Aix-Marseille.

Geoffroy advises on public contracts, particularly in the context of concessions and PPPs. He has been involved in projects relating to the financing, construction and operation of the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille; the Sud Europe Atlantique high-speed line; the Athletes' Village for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games; the Grand Paris Express and the offshore extension of the Principality of Monaco. He has also worked on several French highway (A412, A69, RCEA, A88, A41, A150), port (Calais, Cannes) and airport projects (Nice, Lyon, Beauvais).

In the renewables field, he acts alongside the French government (Ministry of Energy Transition) in calls for tenders for the construction of offshore wind farms, including floating wind turbines, and advises operators in the realization of biomass and geothermal projects, as well as investors in the context of "M&A" operations concerning wind and solar assets and methanization. He also has experience in hydroelectricity matters. He advises both sponsors and lenders and works regularly with public entities and governments. He also advises on the drafting and negotiation of corporate PPAs, acting for both energy producers and buyers.
